**NEW** Wellbeing

Wellbeing is a new and important subject.  We have decided to use the 'grace period' set out by the DfE to carefully implement the new RSHE Framework by Summer 2021.  We mainly use the PSHE Association Framework and the Lifewise online scheme to deliver our programme of Wellbeing.  Our Collective Worship programme also draws on the termly whole-school themes.
Sequencing of Wellbeing over time
Teachers skilfully weave the relationship aspects and personal development teaching into the Learning Expeditions so that children have genuine contexts and experience in which to be coached through and manage their own wellbeing.  There are 6 other themes which are not included in this and form our whole-school 'Wellbeing and Worship' programme.  Collective Worship provides a Christian angle to this work but we also have a day a half-term (Box of Delights) to focus on these themes and to learn useful life skills and hear from visiting speakers as well as engage in national days of action.
Wellbeing concepts being explored include:
  •  Relationship and personal development- e.g. handling pressure, resolving conflict, having a good self-image
  • 6 termly Wellbeing themes- Civic Pride/ British Values, Financial Skills, Safety, Diversity, Health & Hygiene and Changes
  • 'Box of Delights' Days-e.g. NSPCC speakers, mindfulness and meditation, Business and Enterprise Event.
