You will have received in your learning packs a Talk For Writing booklet that will have a story in it and lots of fun activities. I have also included details of what activities to complete on each day for the next three weeks. Please see below for details of the sessions for the week commencing 01.06.20.
Reception English Learning - The Amazing Adventures of Max
Monday 1st June – Pages: 1-5 – Read the story and discuss the questions in your learning pack. Encourage your child to recall details from the story and to think about any words that they might not have understood.
Tuesday 2nd June – Pages: 6-8 – Look at the photos and put them in order to show where Max went during the middle of the story. Draw some pictures to show what happened in the beginning and the end of the story then have a go at acting out the story.
Wednesday 3rd June – Page:9 – Telling and inventing stories. Look at the plan of my story about a dog called Rosie and the adventure that she goes on. Have a go at making up your own story using my plan to help. Draw pictures of what happens and then have a go at telling the story aloud using the sentence starters: Early one morning, First we, After that, Suddenly, Luckily, They lived happily ever after.
Thursday 4th June – Page: 10 – Warming up the words. Read each of the words and discuss what they mean with your child. Model how to write each word and then have your child copy the word and draw a picture to match the word i.e. harness – draw a picture of a dog with a lead around their body.
Friday 5th June – Page: 11-12 – Where’s Max and Where’s Snowy. Have a go at matching the words ‘down’, ‘into’ and ‘over’ to a picture and then create a sentence for each i.e. the boy is moving down the slide. Then practice using positional language to describe where Snowy is in the pictures. If you would like a challenge then have a go at writing a sentence to match each picture i.e. Snowy is on the chair, Snowy is beside the chair.
