Alfoxton Class had Mr Tucker for the day and he showed us some interesting things about Multiplication. First, we got to grips with what it is (repeated addition in groups). Then we looked at some representations of it using things like double-sided counters, Numicon, bar models and Base 10.
We discovered that the size of each group is called the Multiplicand and the number of groups is called the Multiplier and the answer is called the Product.
We had so much fun creating representations of multiplication facts. Some of us found ways that Mr Tucker didn't even think of! Here are some pictures of us at work.
