On Thursday, we held our leavers' assembly on the school field. It wasn't the usual way of saying goodbye as we included a picnic in it and seemed a good way to round off what has been a very peculiar academic year. The weather was good and everyone enjoyed feasting on cakes and other delicious delights!
We sadly had to say farewell to Miss Atwell and she was presented with cards and presents. It was very emotional but as Miss Atwell said, we will see her around as next year, we will be working closely with her new school Spaxton.
It was also time to say farewell to the Year 6s. Mr Tucker gave a speech about every leaver and Miss Day read out a poem she had created herself. Congratulations to Emily for winning this year's sports shield and the look on Grace's face when she won the Cup for all-round success was priceless!
The Year 6s were presented with gift bags and a photo frame with all their photos in. Leavers' t-shirts will arrive in Autumn Term.
All in all, it was a lovely way to end the year. Some things will remain the same (the bubble system, for instance) when we come back but we are really looking forward to having the whole school back so some normality can resume after what has been a very turbulent year. Have a restful summer break and we look forward to seeing you in September!
