Good morning Beacon Class!
I hope you had a lovely weekend.
Today we will listen to the story of One Plastic Bag and create a bag of our own by recycling plastic bags.
1. Watch the video of the story
2. When you saw Isatou hang the bags on the line, what did you think she was going to do with them? Write a list of your ideas.
3. As you read on you will realise that Isatou and the women in Gambia are weaving or crocheting purses and bags from the recycled plastic bags. Today we are going to learn how to make our own purses, bags or other useful items using recycled plastic bags. Don't worry if you don't have any - you could also use paper.
Watch Isatou in the video below to see how she constructs a bag from recycled plastic and then look at th crocheting or weaving instructions below the video. Have a go at making your own recycled items but don't forget to send it a photograph of your brilliant creations! Be creative - what can you make?
